Brief

The client wanted to give their tired and underutilised rental apartment a complete facelift. They requested adding a second bedroom as well as a second bathroom, to really maximise on their investment.

Approach

We proposed a layout plan which made use of every inch of the limited space, while giving the users comfort and privacy in their sleeping quarters. We also designed a sweeping open plan living area for them to relax and entertain, while enjoying impressive views from the newly designed balcony nook. Our shared passion for Maltese architectural heritage made it an easy decision to salvage the traditional tiles and original wooden beams. The exposed limestone walls and xorok were restored, and paired with a bold but calming colour palette.
